This page compiles independent, third-party research relevant to two things: how the liver relates to metabolism in general, and what's publicly known about the ingredient categories listed in HepatoBurn's formula. Every source below links to a government health institute (NIH/NCCIH) or a peer-reviewed article. We're not going to cherry-pick only the flattering findings — where the evidence is thin or mixed, that's stated plainly.

Citing real research about an ingredient in general is not the same as proving a specific commercial product containing that ingredient produces a specific result. How the Liver Relates to Metabolism
HepatoBurn's entire premise rests on a real, well-documented area of physiology: the liver plays a central role in metabolism, including breaking down fats for energy, converting excess carbohydrates and proteins into storable fat, and regulating blood sugar by storing and releasing glycogen. NIH-hosted reference sources describe the liver as central to "all metabolic processes in the body," serving as the primary site for lipid uptake, processing, and export.

What Independent Research Says About Each Listed Ingredient
These summaries describe the ingredient category in general — not HepatoBurn's specific dosage or formulation, which is not independently tested in the sources below.
Silymarin (Milk Thistle Extract)
Milk thistle has a long history of traditional use for liver conditions. However, the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) — part of the NIH — reports that clinical trial results have been inconsistent, and that two NCCIH-funded studies did not show meaningful benefit from silymarin supplementation for liver disease outcomes. This is one of the more honest gaps between an ingredient's traditional reputation and its clinical trial record.
Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea Extract)
NCCIH states that "definite conclusions cannot yet be reached" on whether green tea is helpful for most of the purposes people use it for, though it notes some modest evidence for effects on weight and cholesterol. A separate peer-reviewed pharmacology review describes green tea's catechins as having demonstrated antioxidant and metabolic activity in laboratory and animal research. NCCIH also flags safety considerations, including rare reports of liver injury in susceptible individuals at high doses of concentrated extract.

Resveratrol
A peer-reviewed narrative review describes resveratrol as showing antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and metabolic-regulatory effects in experimental research, with potential relevance to cardiovascular health, liver health, and obesity. The same review is explicit that clinical trial results in humans are inconsistent, and calls for more clinical research before firm conclusions can be drawn.
Berberine
Berberine has one of the stronger research bases among these ingredients for metabolic effects specifically. Peer-reviewed research describes berberine activating AMPK (a key regulator of glucose and lipid metabolism), reducing fasting blood glucose and lipid markers in studies, and suppressing processes in the liver linked to fat and glucose production. Researchers note it faces bioavailability (absorption) challenges when taken orally, and that more derivative research is ongoing.

Glutathione
Glutathione is the body's primary internally-produced antioxidant and plays a documented role in cellular detoxification pathways. A peer-reviewed study using human liver cells (HepG2) found that glutathione activated antioxidant defense pathways and reduced markers of cell damage under oxidative stress conditions in that lab model — a relevant, liver-specific data point, though a cell-culture study is a different level of evidence than a human clinical trial.
What This Research Does and Doesn't Tell You
What it tells you: the general categories of ingredients HepatoBurn lists are real, studied substances with documented mechanisms of action, and the liver genuinely does play a central role in metabolism. That's a coherent scientific rationale for the product's general direction.
What it doesn't tell you: whether HepatoBurn's specific formulation, at its specific (non-public) dosages, produces the specific outcomes described in its marketing. Ingredient-level research and finished-product clinical research are different things, and conflating them is one of the most common ways supplement marketing overstates what's actually known. We've tried not to do that anywhere on this site.
How We Selected These Sources
We prioritized, in order: fact sheets from NIH's National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), peer-reviewed articles indexed on PubMed/PubMed Central (PMC), and NCBI Bookshelf physiology references. We deliberately avoided marketing blogs, unsourced "top 10 supplements" articles, and any source we could not independently verify was live and said what we're citing it for — each link above was checked before publishing. We did not include any source specific to HepatoBurn as a branded product, because we are not aware of one that meets this bar.

Does this research prove HepatoBurn works?
No. These are general, independent sources about liver physiology and about the ingredient categories HepatoBurn lists — not clinical trials of the HepatoBurn product itself. No such product-specific trial is known to be published.
Why do some of these sources say the evidence is limited or mixed?
Because that's what the research honestly shows for some of these ingredients. NCCIH itself states that milk thistle/silymarin trial results have been inconsistent, and that green tea's benefits aren't yet definitively established for most uses. We report that plainly rather than only citing favorable findings.
How should I use the information on this page?
